Side badge location?

Anyone have specs on exactly where to mount M badge on M40i side vents (like on european vehicles)?

Thanks!

Does anyone have the location measurements for where the badge appears on the European models? And (I think) the US first edition models may have had the badge as well?

Just curious why the European models have it and the North American models don't. Consistency is a key point for me.

The picture was great, if only a ruler measured the centerline to vent distance would help on mounting.

Sorry but we use metric, so these numbers on top are cm.

Awesome, no apologies necessary. Across the pond, we understand there are 2.54cm per 1in.

BMWUSA IIRC has the the biggest market for "M" cars. They did not want to dilute the brand despite the fact that most BMW cars have little M's all over them.

It's not just European models; in Canada, we also get the M performance badge on the side

All the MXXX cars outside of the US have the fender badge. Was a big topic on the 3/4 series boards a number of years ago when the M340 first came out.

BTW the BMWUSA & BMW Canada are separate organizations that independently set the configurations for the cars they sell.

Makes more sense from an international organization standpoint.

Yep, that's why I could order the black grill, etc. on my 2020 M40i here too.

Figured I would rattle a few purest chains & debase the M badge a bit. Nothing special about the placement looked at a picture of a Canadian dealers car & did a good enough with a mail order badge.

Was enough to scare off a E series V8 M3 that was working his way through traffic on interstate 540 to get next to me at an exit stop light.

He went out nice & easy.

Car is clean just reflects every piece of junk on the driveway.

Looks like that side badge on Amadeo's car is in chrome? Are the rear badges on your car Cerium Grey though?

Yeah it gets run hard on the NC moonshine roads, body stays clean wheels get dirty. Use Armor All Outlast on clean wheels. They will wipe off with a dry paper shop towel.

HAWK HP+ pads one week

I love the look of the M badging there but one issue I have is that I got the SDrive 3.0i and though it’s nice ... I feel like poo a bit because it’s not the M trim. On a car that’s not even a true M. LoL.

Was thinking of using car magnet decals for something else in that spot but I’m not maybe not M.
