Any of you get a link to a video of your car being built??? Heard it was a thing but can’t find it.

No, there are no cameras in the factories.

However, several years ago I was waiting on an Audi S8 to be built and shipped. I have been a really good Audi customer for many years and had gotten to know some of the senior staff at HQ in Virginia. One day the product manager for the A8/S8 line called and said to be on the lookout for a FedEx package the next day. But, he made me swear to never tell anyone what was in the package.

They had wanted to give me a gift of some kind, so they went to the CEO and got permission to take two photos of my S8 being built. They framed them and shipped them. And yes, it took that high an authority to take photos on the line. I figure the statute of limitations has expired so probably okay to share. The photos still hang on the wall in the garage.

It was a truly lovely gift and made me feel great about being their customer. I doubt a mug or hat will have quite the same impact after this Z4 fiasco.

Daggum that’s awesome about your Audi. I ask because a friend of mine got a video of her BMW built so.. I’m like …. Shoooot I’d love to have a video or pictures of my car in prod!

As great as it sounds, I get the picture of viewing video of the kitchen and staff at a fast food restaurant.

LOL probably something close but there is a short video on YouTube that briefly shows the building process and it’s pretty neat.

If you want to see video of a production line, check How Its' Made for specific models. Albeit, the factories put on their best face; however, it is a good and informative show.
