I was told by the dealership that they would not sell the emblems to individuals if the VIN of the BMW indicated that the 50 Year Emblem option was not included in the original purchase.

I took this with a grain of salt considering BMW never turns down a chance to pocket cash.

Anyone else confirm or deny this statement?
