There were leaks ahead of that, but June was the official release.

Regarding the G8x M3/M4, the official press release/photos for those will come after the 4 Series Coupe, likely in the last quarter of 2020.

Again your words weren't clear to me since you say November here yet acknowledge above that the car is only six months away. Perhaps you are referring specifically to the RWD M440i model?

At any rate, I would expect initial G22 deliveries in the US by late August.
yep typo on the first half, i meant pictures.

Regarding November SOP, i was talking about G8x. Sorry, it all made sense in my head since i'm mostly focused on G22/G82. But I am losing interest based on timing (my lease is up in August) and the leaked images don't look good to me.

Hello! What do you think about facelifting G02 in 2021 (like G01)?

530e LCI larger battery than 12 KWh? I have a recollection that California was going to require an EPA range > 30 mi to qualify for a car pool sticker. If that recollection is more or less correct, are you hearing anything about the 530e LCI getting the 5th Gen battery technology to hit this range? I'd bet that CA sells the majority of the 530e models in the USA because of the car pool sticker and if my recollection is correct, it would seem that BMW would try to meet that target--particularly as BMW has signed on to the CA air quality standards.

SAME! Either I pull the trigger on a new 2020 M2C now, or wait until summer is mostly over to hope that the EOP/2021 M2C has some last year nifty changes to the interior or exterior.

Does anyone have insight?

Recent announcement by BMW that the CLAR platform is to be revised from the 2021 model year forward to allow for underfloor batteries in lieu of the under-seat location for current PHEV's.

The reasons are for

1) increased battery size,
2) increased fuel tank size from the current 10 gal, and
3) to restore trunk size.

They clearly state that the upcoming i4 and it's ICE grand coupe will have this. I wonder if the 2021 LCI 530e also get this change? There are reports that the current-production 2020 530e models have all of the electronics expected to be in the LCI and only minor cosmetic changes are expected.

It would be great if this new CLAR platform with it's capability of having a PHEV battery with a 30 mi EPA range is in the 530e LCI. I'm sure BMW will want to closely hold this info. It would kill the prospect of my purchasing another 2020 530e. I would wait.

I like my current 2020 530e so much, I may buy another one when my 330e lease tolls at the end of June. It serves for 90% of my local driving on EV power and is almost as good as having a full EV for a lot less money than anything other than Tesla Model 3.

A 30 mi EPA EV range would be good for 100% of my local use and a complete substitute of a full EV, with the extra weight of a 250 mi battery instead allocated to an ICE for long trips.

Froehlich stated this will happen in 2021. He does not speak in terms of model years. Those are a North American construct that most of the rest of the world ignores.

I disagree.

If the 4 Series PHEV launches in the 2021 calendar year, it may have this revision of BMW's CLAR hybrid drivetrain, yes. Unless BMW plans to update the 5 Series PHEV in 2021 or later, a year or more after the LCI, it will not receive this technology.

I don't think a US specific release was issued. Here's some unofficial info.

US production started in December:

I hope the US 545e was pulled to make room for G30 M545e in the US -- mkoesel is probably right that it won't happen for G30

Either never (if 25d is retired from the lineup) or at LCI in 2022.

Confirming G05 X5 LCI in 2022

Is 2022 the current estimate for the G05 X5 LCI? The first post does not provide a month/year.

I'm hoping for 2022 as our lease expires in April 2022.

It should be, but my evidence is not strong enough for the top post.

No, the 530e already exists today, and it will be updated in July with the other existing G30/G31 models. The new 520e and 545e arrive a bit later, in November.
