BMW has sold about 1,300 Z4 this CY, more than 400 in June.

Other than my own, I have yet to see another one in the wild (and not just on a dealer's lot).

These things are made to order and no dealers are ordering much inventory. I doubt that there will be any fire sales on this car for a while. The capacity in the plant in Austria to make this car can be made up by the Supra if the Z4 doesn’t sell well so BMW isn’t under pressure to fill up a plant as usual. My AD has 1-2 in stock max at all times and won’t hold more. BMW wants this to be a custom order car to hold prices up and to keep costs down so they can try to make some money back toward the development work that was spent on this car.

All true... as a matter of fact though they sell in Germany with an average 12-18% discount (like most cars other than Porsche).
In the U.S. it will be difficult to get much above 10% (by combining various incentives etc.) - for now. Things may change for dealer lot cars not sold by end of summer season though.

Local dealer has 8 … https://www.billjacobsbmw.com/new-vehicles/z4/

And same, I got 6% discount on my 2020 M40i. Back then, discounts varied widely: from 0 ('you are lucky I don't add to the MSRP because it's such a new car') to a set $ amount off no matter wich options, to various percentages.

i talked to a place today that offered invoice + incentives on an order.

had another place say 10% plus incentives on an sdrive30i and 9% on a m40i , but I have to check back on that when I order next month, was a verbal offer and seemed really generous, so we'll see. Seems like no one should be paying more than invoice at this point though

got what I think was very good deal on car I ordered. 6.8% off msrp on $74,495. It may come in at a better price as that includes the current 1K incentive but if better incentive comes along before I get my car, I have been told I get the highest incentive. This is basically $500 over invoice plus any current dealer incentives. Frozen grey loaded with all options.

ugh, $1500 incentive only on 2019s on the lots, and m40is..... Was hoping to order a 2020 sdrive 30i .... I guess i'll have to wait.

Loyalty and finance incentives can stack right?

new incentive in october

I just picked my M40i last Tuesday (on a business trip now and meant to post pics before I left but had a website problem uploading the pics and will try again when I get home later this week). When I went in the dealer last week, he told me that in addition to the $1K loyalty incentive I got when I ordered it in June, he was also giving me $1.5K more due to a new incentive that applies to the M40is but not the 3.0. Evidently a new incentive started this month - saved me an extra $1500....

Great question, he wouldn't disclose at the time. Just wondering what people are paying for their lease, or if this is remotely good.

Thanks

Go with another dealer. Nobody should have an issue telling you what they are selling you the car for.

Before summer, 6% off MSRP was possible despite it being a brand new car. I received quotes between 0 and 6 percent off.

Good Deal, I Believe

Got a signed quote from a dealer for a 36 month lease on a 2020 Z4 30i

MSRP=$59,750

Rebates=$2500 (lease credit $1500, loyalty credit $1000)

Discount=$8226

Price=$49024

I have a $1000 coupon for Test Drive to Feed Hunger Event that will be subtracted from the negotiated price.

Also getting $2850 for trading in an old 2003 Ford Ranger.

$1127 down, payment will be $450 a month.

What do you think?

I don’t know what the money factor is right now and assuming it’s for 10k miles ... it sounds like a good deal, especially if you purchased - but to make sure it’s a great lease deal, you would need to know money factor (MF).

It is for 12k per year and the MF is .00128

Thanks
