Take a cruise through the 'Cool Pics' thread and see if the photos posted there feature any 'bob' cuts. I doubt you'll find hardly any.

Length doesn't matter much to me. Short hair can look great or terrible, long hair can look great or terrible

For the record my name isn't Chad or Kyle.
You know, I've heard this my entire life. I have met a ton of other male Jody's (note the y), I've only met one female Jody/i in my 44 years.

Is anyone here sober and if so, how do you handle dating when there is an apparent drinking culture. What's anyone's experience? Obviously, I know I can get water in the bar (or tea in the coffee shop; I also don't drink coffee), but I know my dating pool's gonna shrink significantly as I wouldn't be ok with them getting smashed every weekend which people here my age do.

back in the day while dating or randomly clubbing. i would always have 1 drink at least. then i would just get water/sprite/7up or ginger-ale. I never cared who drank the most. The only thing that matter to me, have a good time and get home safely.

I'm assuming you're 20-30yo?

Asking bc it's totally plausible to do it; my girlfriend has a glass or two with dinner at most. I treated my liver extremely poorly in college. Other than drinks with dinner, I went down in drinking a lot; plus now that I'm in a relationship I don't need to be out every weekend.

And, my two cents - they should respect that you're sober regardless of why you made that choice. If they can't, I don't think they're worth your time anyway.

Yeah, mid-20s.

Thanks, I know the stupid peer pressure is real. Even from family.

Last time I was dating, I would drink alcohol but have completely stopped since then. I've had a few comments here and there, saying I'm boring because I don't touch alcohol. I'd say they're the boring ones if that's their main source of fun.

So was just curious how things go for others now.

Saved money goes towards my sneaker collection instead lol

You just have to find the right one. Lot of mid-20 girls are still immature and not done their party years. Obviously there are some on the other end of the spectrum, but I'd say less likely to find or they're already taken. I'm around the same age, not sure how I would react if my fiance was sober. I don't think I would be too bothered, more so I'd be worried if she would hate me for drinking haha. Not an alcoholic by any means haha, but our friend group down here (even though they're late 20s/early 30s) enjoy having a drink or two during the weekends.

I'd just be upfront, if they even seem to have an issue with it as first I wouldn't continue the relationship as they most likely will continue that "you're not fun" comment and at some point it could be the downfall or a least a difficult point of said relationship. That might be a more harsh view point, but I think there needs to be some sort of understanding there.

Date 3.

Went back to Houston for the weekend and had an amazing time. We met at my hotel and departed to a bar for drinks and appetizers. We planned to go to Perry's steakhouse but ended up ordering a couple of appetizers to go then back for Netflix and chill.

We went to brunch the next morning then just sat around talking for a few hours. She went home to take care of family stuff then we met that evening and did the same things at different places!

She is amazing in every way and I couldn't be happier!

Edit: She is coming here on May 1st.

See, I was still in the gender reassignment discovery camp, and I'm not saying I've abandoned that theory yet either, but you do bring up a plausible alternative.

Either way, I think we're both of the same mind that when something is too good to be true....

Though I honestly wish MK luck and hope he found someone truly special, I'm just jaded from reading everyone's dating experiences and feel like the dating pool must really be terrible.

Can't really comment on the dating pool.... I found my unicorn a while back, so they are out there.

Good sir, this is the 1st question I asked once we went through familial backgrounds to make certain we aren't cousins. Yes. I'm serious.

She is a proud supporter of Sir Lewis Hamilton. Can't wait for Austin. She's never been to an F1 race. Paddock Club all the way!!

Thomas, is that you?
She is actually what I prayed for and had to filter past a few bogeys and pretenders to get to her.

It's to the point that we are making familial introductions when she arrives on May 1st. I've only introduced 3 people to my family in my entire life. My ex-wife. My first college sweetheart and someone I dated for about 13 or so months in 2017/2018. That's 3 people in about 38 years. That should provide you with a glimpse of how special she is to me.

Thanks for the kind wishes.

Just a thought - I know Paddock Club is good (I think that's where I was last time or maybe that was Indycar? Can't remember) but Turn 12 high up probably offers the best view of the real live action if that's what you want. Paddock club gives you the best drinks in air conditioned comfort and the best view of the single file front straight.

Thanks for the info!

I love PC and prefer to watch it there since my brother has a right side deficit and the stands can be rather difficult for him.

I think the best place I've ever watched any race was the Mercedes Grandstand at Hockenheimring. You can see the entire straight to the far right, watch the cars approach through the multi-turn complex, brake hard for a semi-hairpin, then accelerate away for a right-hander. Absolutely epic.

Will you be attending this year?

I don't think I will be going. Tend to prefer the view from my pool or hot tub where I have access to unlimited drinks and private toilet facilities

Sounds like that's an invitation to MK. Could be reading that wrong, but *sounds* like an invitation.
