I have an M3 and M6. I must admit the active sound in my M6 dulls down the rawness of the car, I was hoping that the new M4 didnt have it because i am probably going to trade in my e92 for one, guess ill have to deal with it

I have to say the M6 in this video is one of the ugliest I've ever seen
but you CANT deny that sound (!!) esp. next to OPs fart can turbo

One more thing I wanted to mention from the video: that instrument cluster looks WAY better than the guages in the "production interior" thread. How does it go from this detailed to nothing but just black plastic?

Just get an F80 M3 with the M5 active sound mod.
It'll be like having a V8 again! Just with more torque!

Since Akra has the "delete R" for the CEL, maybe they can put out a "Delete F" as in DELETE FAKE.

LMAO @ this thread.

OP is so insecure because people are making fun of the fake engine noise coming through his speakers. If you like it then thats all that matter. Why do you care about other peoples opinions??

Also I have never seen an M3 driver here post "I am getting a Lexus next" so thats just silly.

With that said im not a fan of turdbros, fake engine noise, and a car that looks like a normal 435i with 4 exhaust tips. I'll keep my E92 and prob get a C7 and not care what anyone says because im not insecure like the OP.

Not too much was taken out, however my comment was before we had taken any sound proofing out of the car.

I barely can hear the sounds from the speakers unless I am trying to look for it.

If I had the option of having the enhanced sound or not, I would choose not to have it. But I wouldn't lose sleep over it either.

but with this logic, the e9x looks like a regular e90. LOL. you don' notice the fender flares and more aggressive bumpers, and trunk lid? I mean that's the exact same formula as the current e9x m3. Unless you mean the engine of course....

The aftermaket guys

need to come up with a fake sound delete module....I'm sorry but fake sound has no place in a performace car....Who in the world is M division marketing to these days? a bunch of wanna be patrick dempsey's?

The new z4 ALMS race car looks to be bad ass...so how do we go from that to fake sound in the new M cars?

Good point but yes at least you cant mistake the engine noise for a 335i. There was a thread on the main page about the new M performance exhaust for the 435 and some guys were posting "wow! I hope the M4 sounds like that!". Gave me a good LOL.

The reason for this is because the cabins have so much noise isolation that there's no choice but to go through with something like this. I'd much rather have great sound isolation than be stuck with a drone sound inside.

drone is a bad point to make. stock exhaust is very quiet and in the past has never been a problem. what all of a sudden its a problem ?

the reason is these new turbo engine are not very vocal. the old V10 and about to be old M3 V8 with there loud induction sounds/and the fact being a naturally aspirated made them sound louder (engine wise, not exhaust).

It's like putting on those red caliper covers, or putting on reproduction parts. If it makes you happy, I guess.

But for me, I'd rather have it pure.
