My 6MT arrived yesterday
Took it for a quick spin.. but was still in shipping mode so was throttle limited and pretty boring.
Will get more seat time Friday after pickup |

Congrats and Enjoy!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts and overall impressions. Quick question, looking at the spedo, this appears to be a Canadian car. Did you order the seatbelts with the ///M stripes - was that an option or did the Z4 come like that? It was not an option in the US...just wanting to see if the ///M belts are "standard" on our side of the pond. Thanks in advance for the reply!!

Congrats, it looks awesome in that color combination. We are looking forward to your reports, especially after you complete your 1200 mile breakin.

Congratulations and enjoy. Look forward to your comments. Thank you for the early pictures. Except for the door cards (and seat belts) looks like what I have on order.
These pictures only make me more anxious. |

Ahh...I ordered the "full" cognac interior and happy I did so, but the ///M seatbelts are a nice touch. Bummed that we could not order them as a separate option in the US, but there are bigger things in life to worry about. Thank you for the info!!

The M seatbelts should be standard on all M40i’s!

I'd bet that at some point those belts will hit an online dealership parts catalog and be available for sale. Congrats on the car! And yeah you are the first on the forum for sure.
If you were inclined, but certainly don't need to do it, and took some good pictures and gave driving impressions (favorable doesn't hurt) I wouldn't be surprised if you made it to the main Bimmerpost front page for a while. |

Great looking car. I love the matte green paint/cognac combination.
While I have no interest in a manual Z4 (this might change if I ever drive one), but I'm really glad they finally made one. Not only so all of you that wanted one can now get one, but... I'm so tired of everyone saying that the Z is not a sports car because its not available in a manual. My standard response is: Do you consider the Porsche 911 GT3 RS a sports car? Interesting, because it's only available in a PDK...Now I can say: Do your research, it absolutely is available as a manual, now move along.

Guess the Corvette is no longer a sports car either.
As far as I’m concerned choosing auto/manual is like picking an exterior color. Individual preference and doesn’t make one better then the other. |
