Neutral Gear - Push not possible
Seems like G29 Neutral gear is only possible if the car is powered.
What if the car battery is bad and one needs to push the car. Or for whatever reason, one needs to push the car when power is not possible or desired, Neutral is not possible? Anybody have a definite answer to this odd situation? |

There is usually a way to put the car in neutral without power, check your owners manual. Otherwise hook up a battery to it and try to get in neutral

I had that problem when my car briked after a remote update. The BMW guys spent a lot of time trying to find the switch under the car ( under protection had to be removed ) because it is in some place different from other BMW models. Also, it's not anymore a switch but a kind of spring. When we start the ignition ( not the car ) the spring jumped back to Park

A couple of months back a driver ran a Stop sign and hit my wife who was driving our G29. As you may be aware in certain types of accidents with BMWs the battery is disconnected. This was one of those accidents plus two airbags deployed, steering wheel and knee. Nobody could put that car in neutral so that it could be rolled on a flatbed tow truck, it had to be drug on. Neither the onboard owners manual or the hardcopy manual provided instructions on how to get it in neutral, other than start the car then put it into neutral. Very helpful! The body shop guys told me they just jump the battery to start the car.
