Maybe the title should be changed to something about Porsche fans and hurt feelings?

What a cute dick swinging contest.

Had to leave the Tesla forums a bit. Nothing more nauseating than a bunch of mid 30 to 40 yr old silicon-valleymen circle jerking over ring times. Reminds of the GTR days.

I’m a bit more trusting of Porsche, but I’d really love to see the Taycan and P100D go at it by an independent reviewer. Would make for a great shitfling fest with either result.

Oh god, the Tesla forums are one of the worsts places in the world to be. They love their cars far too much, whenever someone says something critical, they're called a troll, and are ridiculed and insulted by every member on the forum. I remember someone said their Model 3 randomly died in the middle of the highway, and everyone was saying he was a troll for posting a thread about it, despite the OP simply asking for help and wondering whether this was a situation/problem for other owners. Some of their members are seriously brain washed into Elon Musk's cult.

I think this comes with maturity. As owners of specific product (tesla, Apple, etc) matures, they will grow a more objective and even critical mindset towards the brand. Meh.... some will always have insecurities due to pass experiences which is too bad. Needs counselling I suppose.

OK. So Tesla is now basing it's performance on data and what might be possible.

I'm sure Tesla fanboys will take it as fact.

FWIW - I've got a reservation spot for the Taycan. And I've been looking at a CPO Tesla S.
I can appreciate the tech in either cars.

I watch a "neighbor" with his P80D around town, the dude treats EVERY stop light like his personal drag strip. It's kind of pathetic to watch because he's maybe 55-ish and has had to nail the brake to keep from hitting cars changing lanes or merging.

Porsche made a smart move with making the Taycan a higher price point than the Tesla S. Once a Tesla S owner hits the 4 year mark, what are they going to buy next?

Porsche Taycan is my wager.

One wonder how many laps did it get to do before breaking down.

There are reports that said Elon Musk may have cheated. And given the fact he had repeatedly giving false information in the past with regard to Tesla financial well being, I am not surprised.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-t...-idUSKBN1WX1DL

Quote:
“The car was heavily modified,” said Stefan Baldauf, who photographs prototype vehicles being tested on the circuit for a living.

“Aside from a roll cage and the driver’s seat, the interior had been stripped out,” he added. “The windows were blacked out, so it was hard to tell.”

The Tesla also appeared to have semi-slick tyres, used only on racing circuits and unsuited for everyday use, Baldauf said.

A Porsche spokeswoman told Reuters its Taycan was tested using standard tyres.

“A comparison is hardly fair if this is the vehicle used to demonstrate that Tesla is faster,” Baldauf added.

Its a known fact that he's essentially comparing a heavily modified car to a mostly stock (Taycan had roll cage and seat for safety) car.

We all know for a fact that when the Mode S P100+ (Plaid) does come out, there is no way in hell it will comes standard with a scrapped interior, incredibly low suspension, and a huge rear diffuser (from the latest photos).

When elon tweeted, we all thought he would be testing a current spec P100D, which would have been fair play, but now, he's dragged this pissing rate out of proportion with all of these almost "JDM/Ricer-like" modifications. All we wanted to see was a fair (and stock) take on the Nürburgring.

I could see that when it goes into production that it won't be anywhere near what it is now. I'm going to guess it'll have the extra motor and perhaps the wheel arches (allowing wider tyres) as well as a 120kwh or so battery.

So it'll be partially going into production, but it won't be the same spec as the car they are throwing around the ring.

I wonder which SCCA Class Tesla is trying to enter their latest modified car into? https://www.autoblog.com/2019/10/16/...#slide-2177436

It seems to be a pattern with Elon Musk. The guy would say anything or do anything to get attention. It was cute for awhile at the beginning it's getting a bit tiresome and down right laughable now.
