Thanks! I've been looking for something like this. I had one for my Miata by windrestrictor.com but they don't make one for the G29.

Is there any benefit to the glass deflectors over the mesh one that comes with the car, other than looks?

You won't have reduced visibility at night which is one of the reasons why I removed my mesh deflector.

The other reason is that I like how the car looks without any deflector.

Thank you. I kinda figured I would just remove mine when the top is up and throw it in the little netted area behind the seats. I am assuming it's easy/quick to just slide it in and out?

yea, it feels like light magnets holding it in. can do it easy 1 handed with top down.

its a little difficult to remove with top up while sitting in the seat, but its doable still.

Is the car significantly more “windy” without the deflector? Assuming it’s more for highway speeds than driving 25-35 around the city?

I have the European glass wind deflector and I keep it in all the time. The difference in visibility is night and day and the reduction in cabin turbulence is not quite as good as the mesh version but I find it perfectly acceptable.

How is it working for you? Easy to Install? Good Fit - no rattles?

Thanks

Are you saying the factory mesh deflector is better at reducing wind buffeting than a glass/plexi one? Did i read that right? If so, that seems odd to me....

Yes, the mesh doesn't redirect as much air into the cabin as the glass as some air passes through the mesh, but I've driven on the highway with the top down for hours, much of which was at what I would call "spirited speeds" with the glass deflector and it was fine. Having said that, the visibility improvement is significant, especially at night and far outweighs the small additional turbulence (IMHO).

Yes, night time visibility is way much better with transparent wind defector. I have try to use plastic wind defector in my e89 Z4, it vibrate at high speed. So, when I had my G29, I choose glass one.

The GM at my dealership suggested removing the mesh deflector to me when I first picked up my car. My night visibility has definitely improved and it is the primary reason why I removed it.

With the top down I believe that removing it also makes the overall appearance of the car looks sleeker and more aggressive, especially when viewing it from the front or rear.

Finally, I still have a full head of hair and love the sensation of the wind blowing though it but if you are really worried about turbulence at high speeds you can always wear a hat.

My only question would be:

How well does it hold up to scratches? How is cleaning, wiping... etc?

That was my concern so I decided on the glass German windschott deflector it’s a perfect fit with no rattles and easy to clean and a good place to mount my rear dash cam. https://www.windschott.de/en/wind-deflector/
