Perry,

This item is no longer available because I just bought it! Thank you for the heads up....US$186.24, not too bad considering I guess.

Nice! You will like it a lot. While certainly still a nice price, it was more than I paid. I guess it depends on the exchange rate at the time and how it is paid. When I first looked at it and was going to pay via PayPal, it was about $178. When I switched payment to a CC with no foreign transaction fees, it dropped to $170. Not THAT much, but good to keep in mind if I ever buy something a lot more expensive overseas, save $45 on $1000.

Interestingly, I looked on this company’s website but couldn’t see a clear glass reflector and so I contacted them to ask if they still make them. This is the reply I received:

“Good morning, no, only with a net wind deflector.
We only had problems with glass, the light from the back always shines from other cars”.

Anybody experience the issue they reference?

Not at all, and I have their glass deflector.

Couldn't be sure I got the gist, but I think the vertical glass reflected the headlights back into the car behind you, maybe? Either way, I have been happy with the glass shield and haven't experienced annoying reflections or refractions of light from it.

I haven't noticed any issues with mine, I find it odd they aren't selling them anymore as I just got mine from them not even a month ago.

They're still showing a glass one for the G29 on their product page. https://ur-windschott.de/en/produkte/

No reflection issues on mine either. It is slightly sloped forward, so I don’t see how it could be a danger to drivers behind you. But didn’t they say they were TUV approved, so that may have something to do with it.

I didn’t follow up with the company after their reply to my inquiry.

I only just got my car, not sure I’ll bother to change the deflector, maybe later

Try simply removing the mesh deflector which is what the GM at my dealer suggested I do.

At night my rear visibility has improved with the mesh removed and when the top is down the overall appearance of the car is cleaner and sleeker. 😎

I haven’t done sufficient mileage to form any opinion on this yet. About 60km only so far. I’ll live with what I have for now and see later whether it’s something I want to tinker with.

But I doubt I’ll have an issue with nighttime visibility, the heavy tinting on all my cars makes seeing anything out the back of any of them an impossibility. The Z4 will just join the crowd.

Not that I drive much at night anyway, but thank goodness for rear cameras.

I have semi-retired my Easy Roadster acrylic windscreen. It is of good quality and did dramatically improve rear visibility, especially at night, but it seemed to increase wind buffeting a bit compared to the OEM windscreen so I've switched back to OEM. I don't drive the Z4 at night much but can easily remove it if/when it becomes an issue.
