Hi all, having difficult decision between these three Z4? I love the frozen grey color but am open to the misano blue. Any suggestion is welcome.

If you have to buy right now go with option 1. I’ll repeat that fun cars should be in a fun color and the newer the better. You can always find a great interior specialist and have the two seats redone in a color you prefer.
A car like this doesn’t need HUD or adaptive crap. If you drive a sporty car in a sporty way all that gimmicky stuff will drive you nuts and you’ll turn it off. Save the HUD etc for the Cadillac crowd. I’d avoid the frozen colors unless you plan to PPF the whole car. Potential for scratches is high and automatic car washes are out of the question. Enjoy the hunt! |

Now in prior years if the car was equipped with the adjustable suspension, the Adaptive button was an automatic mode where it would react to your driving and road conditions to dynamically alter the cars handling….it would seamlessly change damping without you needing to place the car in Sport or Comfort mode…easiest way to think of Adaptive Mode is (Auto) Cars without the electronic damping suspension did not have the Adaptive Mode button. Much more common to see that feature missing on 30i’s as it was an option…..all M40i’s came with the electronic damping suspension. |

BTW is absolutely LOVE having the HUD, besides the cool fighter cockpit trick it gives NAV and obviously speed and RPM gauges right in line of sight.
No going back for me, just too convenient to have that info right there without needing to take eyes off the road. If it’s not for you, it can be turned OFF so it’s not like a worthless feature. May I also add since your looking used, the price of a HUD equipped used Z4 is negligible to one without it. Believe me, you want to find one with a majority of options, not a stripped Z4. |

I would choose #1. It is still under factory warranty. The HUD is a nice feature but my '22 also does not have the HUD or Adaptive suspension and I'm still very happy with my car. |

Another issue with frozen colors is that BMW doesn’t offer touchup paint kits for them. 👎🏻 |

Not one for "helping" someone make a choice as I believe its a personal decision but if it was my money would get the low milage '22. Because its low milage & will still have a good run on the factory warranty.
Comments on other things in the thread & what I normally buy.: Save the HUD for combat aircraft & for the Cadillac crowd. Not exactly a charter member of the Cadillac crowd but will admit to two in my dim past. No way & would buy a car without a HUD. It's far from a gimmick as it's very useful device. Has three main driving aids Speedometer, Tach with shift points & Navigation. No scanning the dash it all right infront of you. The additional things you can select are just gravy. Additionally, would not get one without an adaptive suspension. Had a 2011 335IS 7DCT on a sport suspension with runflat summers. Would rattle your teeth out on anything but prime pavement. As soon as the 1500 mile breakin was done pull the tires for a set of get flat summers. Taimed the car quite a bit. Next one came with the adaptive suspension. Major difference in ride kept the RFT till hey wore out & switched to get flats. Black interior has worked out for me on a large number of roof down cars. Gets hot in Carolina but if I am leaving the car roof open I just place a beach towel over the seat. Last, money aside I would get the I6 version of this car.

So interesting that so many state the HUD is a requirement. When I test drove one recently I really didn’t care for the HUD compared to the one that was in my 2015 Vette so I was not going to include it in my spec. However, I did and based on the aforementioned remarks am glad I did. Guess the test drive experience wasn’t a true reflection of what my ownership experience will be.

The HUD on a vette likely is a bit more robust so I can see it not being a wow factor in comparison. I think it’s a worthy option to have on a Z4. |
