I travel for my job, and I guess I watch too many movies, but I'll most likely keep a gun in my car.
Sounds like my dad. He's a retired Police Officer of 25 years, and he will not go anywhere without bringing one of his firearms with him.

Similar to what I carry, a small childrens aluminum bat. Light and manageable yet packs a lot of whollup

I guess a bat would work if you do not want/cannot carry a firearm.

But I'd hate to be the guy with the bat when the other has a gun.

NYC is a "May-Issue" state but it is nearly impossible for a civilian to receive a permit to carry a gun.

So if you wip out a bat and the other guy wips out a gun then you are screwed but if you wip out a gun, and defend yourself you face penalty for unlawful possession of a firearm

some jock douchefuck from another school threw a drink at me from his truck when i was talking with my friends in an in n out parking lot and yelled "PUSSY" at me for no reason.. the drink just fell to the ground and didnt get on me but no doubt i pulled out my bat and ran after the trunk as he zoomed off.

whos the pussy now?

i will most def. get a gun when im old enough.
I hope you dont, you do realize YOU are the aggressor in the above story you just told us. If he had taken out a bat after you came at him with a bat and beat you with it he would have a defense in criminal trial. If you had beat him with it you'd be in jail

I keep a Ruger LCP in the center compartment, fits nicely with the barrel pointing into the engine bay and the butt towards the passenger side (easiest for a right hander to pickup). Usually have my Taurus PT111 in a Crossbreed Supertuck as well, but it would be hard to draw in the car with seatbelt on. I'm in Alabama, and it is basically like Texas, if you break into a house that is occupied, you're probably dead.

Ajz that positioning is also wise so if a round is accidently discharged you wont lose a testicle or take off someone else's

+1 for even considering the positioning of the weapon in the vehicle. Most overlook this.

I always have it facing the engine block cause it the toughest thing for the bullet to pass through...

a 9mm round will pass through a few car doors before it slows down

No bat here... just a retractable police batton that I was able to order when my dad was still a sheriff. It's illegal as hell to carry in the car in CA, but it's also very well hidden since it looks like a seat frame tube or something. It's never pulled out, but you never know with the crazies that you encounter on the road these days. At least the batton can retract and swing out in half a second, and break right through a 2x4 as if it was made of glass.

The Benelli M4 stays in the truck since I go shoot with it a lot. Sometimes I'll carry the XD9 and GSG-5D with me, but not often. It's funny if you strap the GSG & M4 to the roof the trunk lid and open up the truck. Looks like a MP5 & breaching gun in a SWAT car trunk

In CA, if the gun is in a closed & non-accessable area of the car (like a trunk), then it's legal to just throw the gun in there unloaded. But if you have an open trunk, like in a SUV, then the gun must be in a locked container or some type, or have a bag with a lock on the trigger, and still unloaded.

Springfield XD 9mm subcompact in the center console.
Fits nicely, barrel facing forward as described previously. Still have room for the iPhone and charger.

Indiana is a castle doctrine state; applies to your automobile as well.
