I'm not a fan of Hillary, but Trump is virtually guaranteeing her election.

Trump is a bully and admired by bullies.

Pretty frigging sad.

Are we to assume your also calling Trump a racist, and with the only black candidate on both sides, Dr Ben Carson, is in fact endorsing Trump, he's a racist too? I truly feel sorry for you my friend, and all I can think of when you act so scared about TRUMP winning, is that your loosing a lot of Democrat voter base to Trump, and THATS a fact my friend!
Where have you been? It's all over the news channels. Here's a good chronological listing of his comments that led up to the Chicago incident. It's on the Rachel Maddow show, if you aren't afraid to watch it. click here You can't very well ignore the evidence she presents, but you probably will anyway...

So, because Ben Carson is black, and politically as crooked as Trump, along with Chris Christie, standing there like a fool endorsing him as well.. Trump isn't a raciest?

Hillary is ruining her own campaign, she's involved in a DOJ FBI 150 man team of investigators. Yikes, and that investigation is bipartisan, or do you believe the Republicans are behind it? Amazing, that her I.T. guy at the state department pleads the 5th since his information is non incriminating.

In a grand jury round table, his incriminating info was disclosed, and now they're granting him immunity. Bad situation for her.

As far as BERNIE, his problem is that he's an admitted socialist. Not a popular aspect of society these days.

What I find very interesting, as a Canadian observing the US election, is the traction that mean spirited, petty, wedge politics is getting. The US led the world into that type of politics (and we certainly followed by electing Stephen Harper) but also seemed poised to lead it back out. Instead, the rebound effect has been staggering. Any candidate who has tried to argue policy, argue a balanced agenda, suggest compromise has been completely marginalized (irrespective of actual position on the political spectrum).

I find it interesting because we just had an election in which we had one leader and one party refuse to negative campaign, offered a fulsome policy platform, and appealed to Canadians to be better than we've been in the past decade. They won a majority and five months in Justin Trudeau is significantly more popular than when he was elected.

I don't think it's really appropriate for non-Americans to say anything specific about candidates for the US Presidency ... it's your deal. I am more struck by how nasty this particular primary season has been and how you're being deprived of any reasoned debate.

I am curious whether any of the Americans on here can ever see the day where someone who refuses to negative campaign, offers a fully detailed platform, and encourages positive debate can ever rise to be a meaningful candidate?

I watched it but actually thought MSNBC was off the air. People actually listen to that trash they spew! Dude check out the neilson ratings, that cable network along with Maddow is the lowest rated news agency in the country, seriously! Look it up. And it's the lowest for a reason. if you don't have access to the Nielsen ratings relating to what I'm saying I will provide them for you let me know.

also I'm asking you to list the hate
statements that Trump has made please

What have Neilson ratings got to do with it, even if it were true, which I doubt, don't try to change the subject... if you watched it, you saw live clips of the hate statements Trump was dumping, the hate statements you asked for are listed by her and are shown by date right up to the time of the event. Are you saying they aren't real?

This post makes too much sense to illicit a sensible answer.

Well the Neilson ratings better be true since airtime ads are about money, and money is about the media. What causes viewership is the reliability of the individuals, easy concept. Take the AL Sharpton show, canceled by MSNBC, Keith Oberman cancelled by MSNBC. Why, their unreliable.

Does UN reliability mean anything to you? Rachael Maddow, who's listening.

Iam asking YOU to list some examples of Trump hate, not some unreliable news commentator selling news time slots on a failing network.

List the hate statements Trumps made, just a few of the items if you can.

Good post.

There.
5 months isn't much. Not bashing the guy because I really don't care to mingle but maybe a reasonable time frame is needed to see if he will bear fruit or not.

Here.
I don't know if anyone "enjoys" what's going on. It's dirty and it's actually turned physical. What people abroad need to do is back up for a second and gaze from the top of the mountain.
Look at our crime, drugs, racial divide, political divide and blah blah blah. Isn't pretty is it? How would you feel if this was happening in Canada? Sit back? Stand up?
But.
I have yet to have a person of color, or fill in any blank, be anything but hospitable around me. I laugh with any and all types almost daily. What is shown to the world is what the media wants...bad news there...good news here.
The crime and drugs etc are definitely a problem in our urban centers but are spreading outwards. Heroin/opiates is a huge problem here beyond anything you can probably imagine. I point the stick at Mexican cartels and corrupt physicians.
I'm rambling now but the point I'm attempting to make is its not as bad as presented but it's also worse than presented. A pick and choose media movie is what the rest are shown. Who runs the media?
They've created the appearance of total chaos yet calm with milk and honey over this fence and that fence.

Do people actually think Donald Trump enjoys being circled by Secret Service agents? The fuel the media pours on people they don't like is laughable and forms many of the opinions posted on here. Guilty myself.
Did Trump become a racists at an early age? Has he shown his racism throughout most of his 69 years, I believe that's his age, and the thousands of business deals worldwide? People did business with him all over the globe even though he's a mini Hitler?
MEDIA.

I hope some of this rant is coherent.

And that Dr Ben Carson a positive Trump endorsement is sure a racist too.

Your witnessing a movement by the masses of the US general public, the liberals responding even here are becoming more defensive since Trump is gathering DEMOCRATS from the other side, and that's a real threat in the eyes of many, we are ready to take back this Country, and the George Soros and Bill Ayers type are worried, and I can see why.

Make America Great again is happening!

For those not understanding free speech at a political event in the US some additional information that makes one think that the protestors at a rally have the same rights regarding free speech, (sorry move on.org)

In 2012, H.R. 347, a federal law dealing with protest, was amended to make it a crime to "disrupt the orderly conduct of government business or official functions" in areas where the Secret Service is providing protection.

The Secret Service began protecting Trump in November (they also provide security for Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders).

Actually this is meant for those trying to give ME the lesson.

As above, I don't think it's not my place (or any non-American's) to comment extensively about our opinion of your candidates. I am simply commenting on the very dark tone to your primary season and the complete lack of substance to the debate.

The lack of substance is not just on the candidates, but media as well. When Donald Trump takes the position that he is going to significantly increase trade barriers and undo free trade agreements (not including the TPP because that's not ratified), where are the other candidates or your CNN/FoxNews/whomever moderators raising the consequences of those actions for fulsome debate? The US raises import tariffs and trade barriers, consumer prices will increase. The US raises import tariffs and trade barriers, trading partners will introduce retaliatory trade barriers of their own hurting American businesses that export causing job loss in those industries and sector. Again, not my place to say there's a right answer (although I do have an opinion), but where's the actual policy debate? Where's the challenge to Donald Trump from any other candidate or an interviewer or a debate moderator? Republicans and Americans need to hear that debate to be well served. You're not and you're not. Republicans and Americans need to hear about more than hate and originalism and no one other than John Kasich gets it and look at where that's getting him.

I agree 5 months isn't much. I think the most interesting phenomenon is that the aspirational tone that Trudeau and his party took in the campaign wasn't just a campaign tactic, it is turned into the way they govern, lead, and engage. It is especially interesting that even when they have made decisions that, in of themselves, aren't that popular, the aspirational tone of the government itself isn't lost on the public. The latest polls show that Justin Trudeau 13 points higher than the share of popular vote his party got on election day. That's all about what "... positive politics can do." It's a pretty unique thing to watch and something I thought we'd never witness again in western society.

Even if it doesn't last, it's nice to see that we're still capable of it.

Thanks again for pointing this out since its not just MSNBC but all news media news outlets. I understand and have always believed that, and one must truly gather as much opinion as possible and then formulate their own opinion.

Liberal and conservative media gathers their viewers, and as a captive audience they usually tell them what they want to hear. MSNBC ABC CBS CNN are all news agencies that support the liberal side, Fox News on the other hand supports the conservative side, the only difference is when you don't like what CNN is saying, or MSNBC is saying, what CBS is saying what ABC is saying you just turn to one of the other top 5, they are all in competition together and obviously you wouldn't turn to Fox, you turn to one of the other competitors on their side. Fox viewers turn the TV off since there's nowhere else to go. Fox TV represents more than half of the viewership of the full amount of the pie, the other half is split by five liberal Networks that are all in competition with one another.

a lot of time when you read someone's comments it's almost quite obvious the manner in which they gather their news in fact it's almost obvious where they get their news when it's only one source example on earlier poster reciting something from MSNBC and by the way the lowest rated Cable News Network broadcast in the world in fact the whole programming lineup is mostly opinion he really is no news part of the problem which makes them different from the rest a complete failure in broadcast journalism MSNBC just ask Al Sharpton and read about how he ever even became a commentator on that Network it will Amaze you.

When YOU disrupt ones ability to free speech at their rally under their terms, you violate the very reason that makes us a free fucking country in the first place, in a communistic society your speech is limited or shut out like your seeing the protestors do at a Trump rally.

Another example of how are first amendment rights are trying to be taken away by the BERNIE mentality people. That won't happen my friend in the USA!
Ok, so here's a little lesson for you. The First Amendment protects you from the GOVERNMENT. Not from other PEOPLE. It is astonishing how many people do not get this simple concept. So even if the anti Trump group prevented him from speaking(which did not happen), it still would not be a violation of his free speech.

But even this is all irrelevant here. Let me tell you what really happened at the UIC pavilion in Chicago. The people in attendance were about 60% Trump supporters and about 40% anti-Trump. All was peaceful until they announced that Trump would not be appearing. Once it was cancelled, the Trump supporters became visibly upset and the anti Trump people began to celebrate. And this is when various skirmishes took place.

We also know that Trump lied when he said that the Chicago PD told him to cancel the event. The Chicago PD has put out a statement saying this.

Another issue that makes you wonder is, why would Trump would even choose this location for a rally? The student body is well over 50% minority, including a very large and visible Muslim presence. Not to mention that UIC is right in the middle of the West side of Chicago. Unless the goal was to was to just stir up his base.

BTW not everyone against Trump or even at the Chicago rally is a Bernie supporter. Most people are just fed up with all the hate and idiocy coming from his campaign. And just to add a little perspective to all you die-hard Trump supporters here- Chicago, NY, LA, etc represents the REAL America. The ones that are actually running this country. And I can honestly say, that I don't personally know a single Trump supporter. And I socialize in very diverse groups, inclusive of many older white right-leaning men.
Also my friend reading is a good place to learn, but since it's lesson time for you and your friends, go ahead and try and dispute this from the words of the law itself....

You Can't Hurt People or Incite Trouble

In 1942, the U.S. Supreme Court added "incitement" to the list of things not covered by freedom of speech. "Fighting words" are against the law and not protected. You can't abuse someone verbally, or use words to rile a crowd into doing something illegal. Law enforcement can criminally charge you for your conduct, and you wouldn't be able to claim that you were exercising your constitutional rights.

I have a funny feeling you will probably have some trouble disputing the above.
You more or less shut him up.

How about we make a trade - the UK takes back John Oliver, Piers Morgan, and Daniel Craig, and we agree to let Obama back into the US?

In 2012, H.R. 347, a federal law dealing with protest, was amended to make it a crime to "disrupt the orderly conduct of government business or official functions" in areas where the Secret Service is providing protection.

The Secret Service began protecting Trump in November (they also provide security for Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders).

Actually this is meant for those trying to give ME the lesson.
Worth repeating

I've read several takes on his pissing off the brits. All the same conclusion...obama is a hypocrite and now he's heading over there to try and change their opinions re: EU. Yikes.
Spouting off to the Atlantic magazine is coming back to bite him.
