Necessary equipment for Z4

What features of the car (blind spot assist, ...) do you consider essential and without them you would not buy the Z4 ?
Either for safe driving, driving experience or comfort.

I'd say "Park Distance Control" and maybe "Blind Spot Detection" (as the blind spots are large when the top is up).

I love the Heated Steering wheel, ACC and the HUD, but wouldn't call them "necessary".

Heated seats and steering wheel is essential for a cabrio. PDC is a must for me.
Android Auto, wireless charging and memory seats/mirror is nice.
I could do without the rest of the stuff.

My must haves were the wind deflector, heating steering wheel and head-up display. So for my M40i (pretty well equipped as standard) that was the technology and comfort packs.

I don't mean to deflect you from this thread but this came up a while back. If you search through this part of the forum you'll see a lot of answers in addition to anything here.

I made a last minute decision to add the blind spot warning so that I could feel better merging on highways and such when the top was up. Gains the park distance sensors as well, be sure I don't hit the front bumper on anything the first few months of owning the car and learning exactly where the corners are. Others recommend the HUD but I opted against it, I'm kind of happy to have less tech especially in my field of view - maybe silly sounding to some but to each their own.

Mike, the one feature I wish I had but unfortunately my car was already sitting at a dealers lot without it is the ACC. My wife has it in her 228i and I use it all of the time. It is useful not only on the highway when driving at high speeds but on local main roads where the speed limits are 35-45 mph and idiots suddenly brake or cut into your lane without any warning.

The other must feature for me and I do have it is the HUD. You don't have to take your eyes off of the road and I recommend it to all of my friends when they go shopping for a BMW.

Android Auto (also CarPlay) and the memory seats & mirrors are standard equipment on the Z4 so the OP won't have to pay for them.

For me, it was heated seats and wheel. This allows driving in cooler temperatures (when you get to a certain age, comfort is a major priority!)

But priorities/must haves are really individual preference, I think. I know one guy (young, admittedly) who has no problem with a middle seat in coach on an airplane!

Ventilated seats are a must. BMW doesn't offer them as an option on the Z4 for some unknown reason, but I bought one anyway.

HUD & adaptable suspension.

FWIW have ventilated seats in the M4C. They suck compared to the cooled seats in the FORD Expedition.

Don't really miss them in the Z4

In my opinion, leather seats should always be ventilated, everyone sweats uncomfortably on them (and not only) in the summer.
