E90 335d LCI Weird repeating sound after start up
Hi to all members
Recently bought 335d e90 Lci. Car drives fine Power wise and soundwave while driving all good. However every time I start it there is this weird sound showing up. If I start cold in the morning, car start fine, after few seconds there is a secondary sound showing up, seems to be coming from back of the engine right hand side. Sound like something is trying to open than close straight after, than start again, and again. Intermittent repeating sound. Can be heard from inside as well. Rpm is moving very slightly when I can hear it. When cold it last about a minute and finally stays there and blend in within engine noise When mid cold or warm its there for few seconds and blend in straight after. After it blends in you can hear it as well as engine sound, but it sounds normal, like a pump or something. Really hard to describe. Had several BMW diesel and never heard it before. Anyone else hear something similar pls?

Answering my own question now
I have diagnosed the problem. Its a EGR pressure converter valve Noise is different than on most youtube video so wasn't sure. I have blocked the air hose going to the egr valve before I started the car and it was all quiet, as soon as unblocked noise came back again for couple of seconds. |
