Door scratch repair...

Hi everyone....

My girlfriend gave the passenger door on the coupe a good shove when opening it...those big doors are a bit heavy I suppose!

Anyway, I happened to be parked next to a pretty high curb, and she scratched the hell out of the bottom of the door...

It's not visible (or I'd probably be in jail for murder 1 instead of writing you guys , I'm just worried about rust. Anything I can do to help prevent it?

Many thanks in advance!

And I will... I was just wondering what my options are for fixing it. Like I said, it's not visible, so can they just (wet?) sand and apply clear coat?

I'm guessing you're saying its the bottom edge of the door? If so I would get some touch up paint and touch up the spot to prevent rust. Then lightly wet sand it to make it smooth so you don't see a jagged edge from the side profile.

yup, fix it (but I don't know what is the best solution as far as DIY). But if you don't fix it, it will 100% turn into rust. Water accumulates at the bottom edge of the door and when you drive in wet condition water is kicked up into that area as well. GL.
