N20 Pneumatic Wastegate Cutter Pin

My wastegate was doing so much rattle in the morning.

I bring it to the dealer and the Foreman show me it missing the cutter pin on the actuator arm to the exhaust manifold.

He say they will try to remove the rusted out left over pin and put a new one but if they aren't able to do so I will need a new turbo assembly for about 2k

My car is only 40 000 miles... wtf they didn't put a rust proof cutter pin?

The turbo is working perfectly, I only have a rattle sound for 2-3 minutes in the morning.. no warranty left.. don't know what to do if they aren't able to fix it

Sounds like a way to squeeze $ out of you. The Cotter pin should be replaceable I'd think.........

Take a look at it yourself. You can always get it out. They make small point tools/ punches that you can fit inside the hole or if you get another cotter pin or even a needle you can put it into one of the holes and punch it out, just use some penetrating lube to loosen it up.

I got back my car today and they were'nt able to remove the old broken pin from the hole (too rusted). They told me I need to replace the whole turbo assembly to remove the noise lol.

I'll try myself, if it's not working I will try to put another kind of pin around the actuator

Give this a try. It is for a VW but works on the turbo arm on any car I believe. https://shopdap.com/store/06j-145-220-a.html

Here is the Ebay version: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Engine-W...VYIsb-&vxp=mtr

Just look up Turbo Anti Rattle Clip.
