I think that is pretty close. The character lines on the hood do not match up to the patent drawings, and it would be unusual if the M40i had a different hood from the 30i. Also, the area around the kidney grills looks a little wonky. Other that I think this is a good render.

I understand that the raised creases were driven by practical considerations because the engine in the E85M / E86M sits a bit taller than the engine in the non-M cars and required a bit more space.

BMW has stayed fairly close to it's concept cars as of late. I think the car will look more like the car that we saw at Frankfurt, last September than this render. Here are my pics from the IAA.
