As expected, the reviews are very "meh."
BMW again went with the grand tourer route on this Z4. It's sad that they haven't produced a true sports roadster in 10 years and don't intend to. Porsche remains unchallenged in this segment. But even with them electric steering and the 4-cyl have watered down the fun. Cars will never have that raw connection with the road they once had. ![]() This car looks nice in these videos though. The positives of the styling come out in motion. I'll definitely take a strong look at it in the next 3-4 years. |

You must not be a true bmw fan if you like that Kia grill.

Which M2? Maybe the OG, not the C. I’d like to see the average Z4 driver in action on that front, honestly.
![]() And I’d still take the OG or C M2 over this limp waisted M performance thing.

Do these even sell? Relevant in today's market? Nah.

Yeah, I’m not your “bro” - are you 14?
The people buying this car don’t typically care about “going fast”, and if they do, they’d get a different brand of car. Additionally, while the car could be quick in a straight line, I’m willing to bet it’s no sports car (did you happen to watch the reviews, hint, it’s a theme). Don’t let the small size fool you...this is a smallish, fattish roadster that has no business being in the same sentence as a Boxster...or an M2. Or the Supra. But, perhaps if BMW tried, and actually made an M like they did with the E86, you’d have something worth posting that’s more interesting than your initial attempt. Let’s make a bet, and we can even use Canadian dollars in case you lose...I wonder which will sell more. This car, or any variant of the M2? ![]()

I was thinking maybe I'd replace my M2 with this Z. I now want to see how well Toyota does with their incoming Supra. |

That Autogefuhl guy, I feel like I just want him to narrate my life story in his voice. Lol!
![]() I still think it's a bit sad that the new Z4 isn't lighter than 3,300lbs, but like many of these car reviewers have stated, the Z4 has never really truly been a pure sports car, more like a luxury roadster. Super cool that the US gets 382hp in the M40i trim though. Moar powah is always a good thing! Lol!

Z3 and first gen Z4 were driver's cars. The E89 started the trend of numb feeling BMWs and it looks like this new Z4 isn't going to be much better. I wouldn't be surprised if it struggles to sell just as the E89 did.

I ended up with an E89 because the lease deals were bonkers on them. With the meh reviews, maybe they will be on this car too
![]() I'm probably going to end up with a Boxster GTS when my M3 lease is up though. I was hoping this would be the Z they finally got right, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Also, is it just me or does that flat wall of carpet behind the seats look really cheap? |

lol, everyone wants the Z4 to be something other than what it is supposed to be. Let's be honest here, most of you wouldn't buy this car regardless unless it's some magical car that can beat a Porsche.
Z4 is a car for a different crowd. Complaining about it won't change it.

I'm actually amazed at the poor quality of the reviewers apart from autogefuhl..never seen those kids before.
Anyway, if the last generation was so bad (for most here it seems), why keep the same formula? They brag about the 8er being a race car to the road, as they developed it around thatGT4 car or whatever it is, but it's clearly not. Then they say they were going after the boxster with this car, while they clearly aren't. So what's left? Either they are not able to reach those levels of performance they intended to, or they are pretty lost within. And £75k? Is this correct? I mean.. |

why does it remind me so much of SL Mercedes of some years ago and FIAT Miata version they built recently... I think interior is great. I still think the first Z4 was the beesknees but thats because im biased due to my Coupe ownership for 4 years, all of which were fun!
