Wetsand or re-spray. Pros help me!

I got these cracks in my 98 Explorer. The car is kept outside 100% and I only had it waxed maybe one time in 10 years! (wish I seen sites like these back then).

I tried to polish it with SIP (orange pad), Final (white). But I think it maybe too deep. Finger nail gets caught (slightly) but not that deep.

What do you guys think? Respray or can I wetsand it out? And is this just the clearcoat that is cracked?

That is 100% no doubt about it, clearcoat failure. I call it "checking". Respray, wetsanding will not do anything.

^^^ exactly

That is one form of clearcoat failure and wetsanding will not solve it. It must be repaired and refinished.

I wouldn't bother - the car's not worth as much as a repaint would cost...

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I335, The post isn't about cost, its about the appearance and how to repair the exterior of the car. Unless you are an expert in car painting or have the last name of bluebook. Then please keep the negative post to yourself.
