Oil catch can

Bought one on a whim awhile back, arrived today, is it of any use for my model or should I sell it? Thanks! I have a general understanding of what it's for but not sure if I need it or not.

You don't need one, but it's a good thing to have. I personally don't run one, but if I planned on keeping this car for the next 5 years I would. It does a good job of catching all the crap that would otherwise be spraying back into the combustion chambers. If you already have it, I would just install it.

That depends how good you are at kludging. I just got one of these, haven't gotten around to installing it yet:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The trick will be in getting it plumbed into the PCV valve pipe, but I'm not concerned, fifty years of working on cars you figure out how to do things. If you're more the plug and play type you're better off to spend the money on a unit that doesn't require being MacGyver to hook it up, like this:

I always thought Mishimoto's kit looked good, though I don't have any personal experience with it.

I personally ran and still runs the BMS kit in my cars. Currently running the B48 kit but it hasnt collected much since it was winter up here and most of the deposit will collect in summertime.

It works on some cars and it does not on others. I strongly recommend it, if it does not do anything for your car sell it after 6 months

Do you need to buy any additional fittings to make the product in the first link to work?

Nevermind, I watched the Mishimoto video on youtube.
Looks like I'll need to find a way to reduce the giant hose from CCV.

I got BMS one from Mike at x-ph and it had everything you need. No need to remove stuff to unscrew the catcher either.

Does temperature make any difference in the amount of oil/gas getting blasted into the combustion chambers? Asking as the majority of the year it's cool here in Canada but summers really hot with humidity. My plan is to keep my '16 N26 for a long time and want to help it stay healthy. Only at 17K miles running Dinan sport tuner, but going BM3 Stage 1 93 Oct next month and eventually Stage 2 once I get a DP.

Not much, as the source of the oil vapors is the crankcase, and that's going to get hot no matter what the outside temperature.
