Im not really interested in the wheels or bodykit, other than possibly the spoiler. The performance mods are very tempting, exhaust engine tune and suspension will cost circa 7000GBP.

I figure that will give me 3 years of driving under warranty, if Im still in love with the Z in 2024 then i could go down the route of a catless downpipe and an aftermarket 500bhp tune.

Has anyone tuned the car as above, and if so what is the longterm experience?

Think about this for a moment - BMW will do an ///M version of virtually every single model, including those gargantuan SUVs; but they won't do a Motorsport version of their sports car That's about sums it up for you that ///M is no longer about ///Motorsports but rather just ///Marketing gimmicks.

Incredibly insightful. I hadn't thought about it that way too. Their one true "sports" car and no ///M for it.

Sadly I think this correct. Why in the world do they neglect their roadster cars so much? BMW now has 7 different SUV models. Now the smaller ones are hardly SUV cars but it is a crossover type.

Roadsters which account for a very small portion of their overall volume are getting the short end of the stick as they are making a great deal of money on all of their SUV's.

Because the sad reality is people buy SUV’s even when they are single.

Roadsters will never be a volume seller. If that's what BMW is going after, why are they even bothering with Roadsters? It would be fairly inexpensive for BMW to make a Z4M - they can easily pillage the parts bin from the M3/M4 just like what they did in the past. It cost BMW way more time/money/efforts to do SUV M cars than the Z4M...yet they chose the former. M cars are not volume seller either - how many X3M, X4M, X5M, X6M and soon to be X7M does BMW sell? The absurd part is that BMW will do a "Competition" version of SUV M cars, but yet won't do a simple Motorsports version of their one and only true sports car!

This is unfortunate of today's generation. As cars are turning into a rolling cell phones, it will be just an appliance.

Look what happened to the camera industry, people are using the cameras on cell phones and they have replaced digital cameras and as a result that industry is really hurting.

This is true... so much easier to lug around your phone everywhere as opposed to a camera. Cell phone cameras are pretty damn good now too. Just got an iphone 13 Pro and i'm super impressed with how well it performs.

I see them when I am driving on I-95 going South to Miami. It is even worse on weekend evenings when they are heading North back to their homes!
