Changes for MY 2023 (last of the G30)
Hello there!
I've been following the G30 scene and yesterday I visited the BMW configurator on the German site to find out the following on what seems to be the 2023 model: 1. New colors! Sophisto Grey, Skyscraper Grey and Arctic Race Blue were added while Dark Graphite and Bluestone are out. 2. The Bowers and Wilkins sound system doesn't seem to be available anymore :-( Do you think the model available on the German configurator is indeed the 2023 model? That would make sense since it is supposed to start manufacturing in July. Also, notice any other changes? |

Pricing and ordering guides were posted previously. So you can cross validate there.

BMW's logic - increase base price while removing options. Pay same $ for less options.

I found this out last summer when I couldn't find DGM anywhere on this sub and instead there was a thread for Sophisto instead. Glad it wasn't taken away. I think it's one of the more great colors out there that isn't too "loud" (Sao Paolo, Dakar, etc.). It's definitely not a popular color but coming from a BSM E60, it was still dark enough without being the same. |

I do think more people would order it if they saw it in person. I think it's a more interesting color than black sapphire metallic. But you really can't appreciate the color if you don't see it in person. The bmw site doesn't represent it accurately at all.

Just got a used 2021 540i in DGM. I was less than thrilled about buying a “grey” car but once I saw the car in bright sunlight (something we have been painfully short of lately in the Pacific Northwest) I was very pleased. It’s elegant and classy

Here in the UK, many options are currently not available on the configurator due to shortages.
B&W cannot be added to any model currently, neither the driver assistance pro, or parking assistant, and more. This will change in time, obviously. B&W will be back in time (it'll be the amp thats short supply, not the actual speakers), just depends when you order / or what is available when made. |

I also just purchased a "pre-owned" 2021 540ix in Dark Graphite metallic or "Sophisto Grau" as it is described in Germany. Very classy colour in bright sunlight ! Lots of tiny green and silver metallic flecks !

Interesting. Well, it's dark graphite here. But however you name it, it's a great color! There isn't a lighting I don't love it in. Full sun to midnight, I love the whole spectrum.

I wonder when the US build configurator will update for '23. I'm really interested to see if they change any trim options.

They look very similar so I may be seeing them on the road and not recognizing it despite owning one in DGM. |

Have a 2017.
Personally, I would not buy a new car in this environment unless absolutely and positively warranted. Supply chain disruptions, among other issues that are impacting the industry globally, I would be hesitant to buy a new car not exactly knowing what I am getting and what's actually missing if you catch my drift. LCI is supposed to be the pinnacle of the outgoing generation. But my early build G30 has been great, solid and best of all, ASS is permanently disabled via dash button. At this point, I'll wait it out another 2-3 years and see what the G60 has in store for the 5-Series. I am thinking a second or third production year G60 is the way to go from my perspective.

Had a sophisticated grey f10
This was one of 2 colours described as xirallic Very nice when the sun catches it Black sapphire I had on my e39 and to be honest was disappointed with that colour as it only looks like a metallic close up with the sun shining on it, otherwise it just looks like gloss black. |
