Does iDrive display brake pad wear?
So, I couldn't find brake pad wear under the iDrive menu. Am I missing something?
My old 530D used to give me a mileage estimate to my next front/rear pad replacement. |

When brake sensor trips, it means more than “getting close to change”. It is more like “now”, but car is safe to drive. Pad has reach minimal thickness, causing the sensor making contact with rotor and a portion of that sensor has been grinded away.

The 530D would "guess" the wear based on driving pattern. The sensor was 2 stage. The first stage was 5000km to go, the second stage was 2000km.
I'm surprised there is nothing with the X5. I guess the sensor will trip at some point and the car will give me 2000km or something? |

My G21 in Germany would show ‘estimated’ time and distance until front and rear pad AND disc (rotor) replacement. The iDrive menu on the NAmerica cars seems very much stripped down. Incidentally the car would also give me its service history in the iDrive, see my other post. |
