oil level reading

i have no dipstick just the dash reading for oil level but this morning whilst sitting at lights i was playing with the options and decided to see how my oil was going, the display wouldnt tell me though!!!! i did try a few times, when i selected oil the graph was shown and the little clock underneath was turning to show it was thinking about it but the display cleared and went back to show miles and mpg (the normal display)every time before a reading was given. i had done about 15/20 miles so i think the oil was hot enough

any ideas?

Sometimes it takes a while to get read. It's no biggie. 15/20 miles seems an awful lot for it still not to be read though. Drive spiritedly for a bit next drive out and see if it gives you a reading.

i probably have to wait about 5-10mins before a reading come up, leave your car on whilst stationary for about 10mins and see if u get a quicker reading then.

I will give that a go, but the display reverts back to the normal mode ie miles and mpg after 30secs, how do i keep the display in the check mode?

You can't. You just have to keep going back to it. Does it do this often? Or did the oil level not appear on this sole occasion...

I set one of the programmable buttons set to go straight to this display. I never had the display revert to a previous display, though.
