Stock E92 M3 spring/strut drop height

I've searched for quite a while but have been unable to find any data or pictures for that matter referencing the drop height (if any) if one was to install an OEM E92 M3 spring/strut setup. I realize that the price to do this doesn't make sense when comparing with a premium aftermarket suspension system; however, I may be able to get a setup from a friend for free whom is upgrading his M3 and was curious if it would be worth the swap.

I currently have the E92 ZSP setup.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!

The M3 suspension don't fit the regular 3 series, you have to swap to the M3 front wheel carrier and the rear camber link

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I was going to take the brake setup as well but that too requires additional M3 parts to swap on.

If its for free, then it might be worth it. But would it really be worth the hassle to do it twice if you then want to upgrade again?

A solid point for sure. If I have to get several additional parts to make it work then to your point it's not worth it in the long run. I wasn't clear on if it was just a direct swap of struts&springs nor if there was a ride height drop at all compared with my current ZSP setup. I did assume the "stiffness" factor would be slightly improved.

If you have a 335i, doing M3 parts will only make your car handle so much better.

But if your considering something aside from the M3 parts Koni Yellows + H&R Sport Springs and H&R Sway + M3 sway links will make your car into a handling beast.

I wouldn't slap on M3 suspension only because you will have to change other parts on your car to accomadate it.

I did the M3 swap, getting cheap parts on ebay, you need from an M3:

the wheel carier + wheel bearing
complete brake system: caliper + carrier + rotor
strut + spring + top mount

It drives great, but since the 335i is lighter, the car will sit 1cm higher than the sport suspension
I will take some M3 eibach springs to lower it to a decent drop

the next stage is the complete rear M3 subframe with LSD

Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it. A lot of work for known performance parts that are OEM.

I also found this post in a FS thread in the M3 forums: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...21&postcount=4

to use the front M3 brakes you need extra to the brakes:

item 1 item 2 and item 5

plus spring plus spring top mount

Thanks a million, that is exactly the info I was looking for.

I can most likely get my hands on the struts/springs/top mounts & the calipers/rotors. All I would need is new pads, and #2 & #5. I'll have to get part #'s.

How does it work for the rear struts? Those I'm assuming are just interchangeable with my e92 ZSP's.

at the rear you need the M3 camber link (the one where the damper is connected and where the spring sits)

parts # are all in www.realoem.com

and remember, with the OEM M3 springs the 335i will sit 1cm (0.5inch) higher than the ZSP 335i suspension.
to lower it a bit (will do this in the next months if I find the springs) you need eibach M3 lowering springs, or custom made springs.

the best would be M3 coilover kit (bilstein KW etc...)
