What shocks are you running with H&R Sports?
I'm thinking of lowering my e90 with sports suspension.. like everyone else, I seek a good ride quality.. I never track my car and handling is less important than comfort (although I wouldn't mind a bit of handling improvement)..
I was going Eibach Pro-kit but the drop almost looks the same as my sports suspension in pictures (but the numbers it should go 1/2" lower but that isn't enough to justify nearly $1000 for parts and labor).. Everyone seems to like the Eibach with Koni FSDs.. So, I'm considering the H&R sports as the drop seems a little more to my liking, but would like to hear: 1) What shocks are you all running? 2) Did you trim your bump stops? 3) Are you happy with the ride and how does it compare to stock? Thanks! Sachin |

1) You can still run the KONI FSD with the H&R Sport Springs!
2) You do not need to trim your bump stops 3) You will maintain a comfortable ride yet still improve the handling of your vehicle |

yeah im in the same boat as you man, from my research almost everyone pairs the H&Rs with koni yellows. I've been looking into the FSD's and i like the auto dampening feature its got, but every so often i see posts saying the FSD's are not good with lowering springs. And i havent found too many people with the FSD's to back them up, only a couple of people. This spring im going h&r w/ koni yellows fo sho.

Thanks for chiming in!
So from what you've read from those with Koni yellows and H&R sports, are they happy with the ride quality.. are the softest settings comparable to stock? Merry Christmas! Sachin |

Yeah they have told me ill be happy with the ride quality, but if i want more comfort to go with eibachs cuz they are a more linear shock, which makes them softer, but you cant beat the drop of the h&r's. Plus when people ask about other spring set ups, someone always puts their .02 cents in about h&r koni yellows. They seem like the most popular set-up and i havent heard anything bad about them still. But compared to STOCK SPORT ive had a broad comparison...some people say its better, some people say its about the same, some worse (with stock shocks theyre rough) but the most logical reason would be they would ride a little rougher cuz ur using lower/stiffer springs. But ill know for myself this spring when i drop it.

I have my Koni Yellows with my H&R sports and the bump stops were shaved off a bit.
I love the ride and handling, it's an awesome combo! Have had it in my car for over 50k and do not regret it at all. Will probably upgrade to a better suspension when this current one goes out. GL!

H&R Sport Springs on stock shocks, don't mind the ride at all. The best upgrade you can make in terms of ride quality is ditching the runflat tires.

Considering the sale on tischer on bmw performance shocks/struts, i decided to go that way and pair them with h&r springs on my 09 335i sport
I just upgraded to v710 18s and will be installing the suspension on wednesday. If you are interested, i can do a run down of the ride quality, handling and snap some pics. I paid just under 300 shipped for 1000 mile old h&r and brand new bmw perf gear from tischer. Konis may be better, but hopefully this bargain setup holds its own. TBH, at the price of koni/h&r, id pony up and go coils. |

why not buy some used bmw sport springs from the forum? they should be relatively cheap, and will give you a pretty good ride height imo |

The FSDs are much better than the OEM sport package struts, The ride is vastly improved but still firm (as would be expected with a sport tuned suspension) but the crashiness and the "Pothole Explosions" are gone along with the tendency for the tires to bounce around on rough pavement. The handling on smopoth surfaces is as good as with the stpck struts and perhaps someshat better.
I am sorry that I waited so long to get them. I wanted to get FSDs in 2007 after I purchased the 335i but they were not available for the convertible. Koni recently made them available for the E93 and ironically it is the same part number as the coupe. CA

Check out Eibach Pro Kit springs or the BMW performance springs if you don't want to lower the car very much, but want better performance. Should work perfect with the BMW performance shocks/struts. Same here. Ride is a bit harsh on bumpy roads, but I think it'll all go away once I ditch the runflats. |
