2008 extended warranty - smart or dumb
My wife's 2008 X3 3.0 Sport is fast approaching 50,000 miles and we are considering whether to buy the suggested aftermarket warranty offered by our BMW dealer. $3,040 for 6 year, 100,000 mile extension. Covers most but not all of what the original manufacturer warranty covers.
Of course our trusted salesman says buy it because if something bad goes wrong it can be brutally expensive. I am curious of the general experience you have all had with the X3 and what you have opinions on buying it or not? |

Extended warentee experience
I have had really good experience with the extended warentees on both my E84 X3's. Brakes, discs, control modules and ECU replaced and all maintence costs covered. Dealers will discount the warentee, you can buy it from any dealer. I paid less than 2400 for the same coverage you are considering, some shopping on your part could lower the cost.
